WRB/Air Barrier: WrapShield SA Self-Adhered

Project Description:

Christchurch Justice and Emergency Services Precinct (CJESP) is the largest emergency services project in New Zealand to date. At the recommendation of MaxClad, WrapShield SA Self-Adhered was installed on the 40,000m building as part of several measures to meet IL 4 Standard, ensuring that it could withstand significant elemental damage and remain in operation in the event of a disaster.

MaxClad determined WrapShield SA Self-Adhered would be best suited for the structure’s unique design; it covered cumbersome building corners that other air barriers would not entirely wrap. Additionally, it did not require substrate preparation, tapes, or primers—reducing labor costs by at least 20%.

The completed precinct has established a new standard for New Zealand Ministry of Justice facilities—not only to offer more effective operations and inter-agency collaboration, but also higher levels of amenity for the public.
